Our Story

"Riwon!"

I heard someone calling my name—
When I turned around, there was my older brother standing by the back door.
I was 9 years old then, in second grade.

He wasn’t the warmest brother growing up,
but that day, he held out 2,000 won and said,
“I found this on the street. Let’s go to the stationery store. Buy whatever you want.”

Our parents always taught us never to pick up or keep money that isn’t ours,
so, of course, he got scolded badly that day.
Still, the memory has stayed with me—vivid and tender—through all these years.
Maybe because it was one of the first times my brother tried to do something just for me.

He was the type of kid who loved to play, draw, and dress up more than study.
And for that, he was often scolded by our father, who was a school teacher.
But one thing our parents did teach us—and that stuck with both of us—was to be honest, kind, and thoughtful of others.

My brother inherited our mom’s artistic talent—she studied fine arts—and now uses that gift in his printing and production work.

As for me, I was the opposite.
I loved studying and became a teacher myself, influenced by our parents.
After 20 years as an elementary school teacher, I decided it was time for a new challenge.
That’s when I joined my brother to help grow DY Printing & Binding.

It’s been just under a year, but I’ve already discovered skills I didn’t even know I had.
I never studied art formally, but I’ve always loved making teaching aids, and I used to get compliments for them all the time.

We believe printing and production aren’t just about mass output from machines.
It’s about beauty, purpose, and meaningful design.

Every product should be both useful and emotionally resonant.

At DnY Printing, we create with our eyes, our hands, and most of all, our hearts.

And somewhere deep in our story,
there’s still that little voice calling—
“Riwon!”
